Winter Classic to be held in Philadlephia

Flyers once again have been chosen to participate in the fifth annual Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on January 2. They have been chosen to face the New York Rangers on a carefully construced outdoor ice hockey rink inside of citizens bank park. The video above shows how the rink is created from scratch in a matter of a few days. This rink will be set up for a sold out crowd in Philadelphia. The flyers lost a nail biter in a previous winter classic match up against the Boston Bruins and look to avoid going 0-2 against their rivals and bring home a win for their city.

The winter classic has never been in Philadelphia and right at the beginning of the new year.
